All about Loksewa Vacancy Calendar 2083/84
At the start of Shrawan 2083, the Public Service Commission published its annual calendar for 2083/84, laying out when each organisation is expected to advertise vacancies, hold written exams, and publish results.
Most aspirants download the PDF, scroll through it once, and never open it again. That is a mistake. This calendar is the single most useful planning document you will get all year, because it turns “I am preparing for Loksewa” into “I have fourteen weeks before the exam I actually care about.”

How to read this calendar
Three things are worth understanding before you plan anything around these dates.
The two-month windows are ranges, not dates. When the calendar says a vacancy opens at “Ashoj/Kartik”, it means the notice is expected somewhere in that roughly sixty day span. It does not mean you will get sixty days of warning. Once the notice drops, the application deadline is usually two to three weeks out, and the exam follows on the calendar’s schedule regardless of when you noticed.
Dates slip, and they slip in one direction. In my experience the calendar is a reliable guide to sequence and a rough guide to timing. Organisations rarely advertise earlier than the calendar says; they frequently advertise later. Plan for the earliest end of each window and treat any delay as bonus study time rather than building your schedule around the latest possible date.
The gap between vacancy and written exam is your real preparation window, and it is short. Across almost every organisation on this list, the written exam falls about two months after the vacancy opens. Two months is enough to revise and to drill previous year questions. It is nowhere near enough to learn the syllabus from scratch. Whatever you intend to sit, the foundation has to be built before the notice appears.

Read down that table and the year organises itself into five waves. Ashoj/Kartik brings the two biggest technical employers. Kartik/Mangsir brings the utilities and the state banks, plus the Nijamati notice on the last Wednesday of Kartik. Mangsir/Poush is by far the heaviest wave, with eight financial-sector and regulatory bodies opening together. Poush/Magh is the insurance sector. Magh/Falgun closes the year with aviation, telecom regulation and state media.
The two crunch periods you should plan around
Two points in the year are genuinely difficult, and both are visible in the table above if you look at the exam column rather than the vacancy column.
Poush/Magh is the first squeeze. Nepal Electricity Authority, Rastriya Banijya Bank, Krishi Bikash Bank, Khanepani, HIDCL and the Nijamati/Sangh written exam all fall in this window. That is six written exams in roughly two months, and their syllabi overlap heavily but not completely. You cannot prepare for all six starting in Mangsir.
Magh/Falgun is the second and larger one. The eight organisations that opened in Mangsir/Poush all sit their written exams here, at the same time as NTC and Nepal Rastra Bank publish their results. If you sat the Ashoj/Kartik exams, you will be waiting on results while preparing for a fresh block of eight.
The practical conclusion is that Shrawan through Bhadra, right now, is the quiet part of the year and the only period where you have uninterrupted study time. Everything from Ashoj onward is application deadlines, admit cards and exam halls. Use these two months for the syllabus work that needs concentration, and leave revision and previous year questions for the busy months when your attention will be fragmented anyway.
The other conclusion is that you should choose. Applying to everything on this list sounds like maximising your chances, and it is a common instinct, but it means arriving under-prepared at every exam. Two or three targets you actually prepare for will beat fifteen you merely register for.
NTC vacancy 2083
Nepal Telecom is the state-owned telecommunications operator and, for Computer Engineers, one of the two most sought-after technical employers on this entire calendar. The Level 7 Computer Engineer post in particular draws a very large number of applicants relative to seats.

Being in the first wave makes NTC the natural anchor for the year. If it is your target, your serious preparation needs to be underway now, because the written exam is roughly five months from the publication of this calendar and the notice itself gives you only weeks.

Nepal Rastra Bank Vacancy
Nepal Rastra Bank is the central bank, and its IT and Computer Engineer openings are among the most competitive on this list, partly because of the pay and progression and partly because the bank recruits infrequently.

Note that NRB shares its entire timeline with NTC. The vacancies open together, the written exams fall in the same window, and the results land in the same window. If you are targeting both, check the exam dates carefully the moment they are announced, because a clash is possible and you may have to choose.
Nepal Electricity Authority
NEA is the national electricity utility, and its IT function covers everything from billing systems to the systems behind grid operations. It recruits across a range of technical levels.

Rastriya Banijya Bank Limited

Its IT recruitment sits within the general banking service structure rather than in a separate engineering stream, which is worth understanding when you read the syllabus, because a meaningful portion of the paper is banking and general awareness rather than pure technical content.

Krishi Bikash Bank Limited
Agricultural Development Bank, commonly written as ADBL, is another large state-owned bank with a heavy rural presence. Its recruitment pattern and paper structure sit close enough to RBB’s that preparing for one puts you in reasonable shape for the other, which is a genuine efficiency given both open in the same window.

The state-owned publishing house behind Gorkhapatra and The Rising Nepal. Worth knowing that its vacancy notices are also where a great many other organisations publish theirs, so the paper is worth watching regardless of whether you apply here.

Nijamati/Sangh Engineer
This is the civil service proper, and it behaves differently from everything else on this list. Note that it is the only entry with a fixed date rather than a two-month window, and the only one where the calendar explicitly includes the interview stage.
Its vacancy in 2083 will open at last Kartik Wednesday.
Written exam will occur at Poush/Magh.
Result of written exam will be published at Falgun/Chaitra.
Interview will occur at Chaitra/Baisakh.
That fixed Wednesday is the single most reliable date on the whole calendar, and it is the one to write down first. Because it is fixed, you can count backwards from it with confidence in a way you cannot for any other organisation here.
The interview stage is also worth planning for rather than treating as an afterthought. Candidates routinely prepare hard for the written exam, clear it, and then discover they have six weeks and no idea how to prepare for what follows.
Building your plan from this calendar
If you take one practical step after reading this, make it this one: pick your two or three targets now, write down their vacancy month and their exam month, and count the weeks.
Working backwards from the earliest exam you care about tends to produce an honest answer about whether your current pace is enough. For someone targeting NTC or NRB, the written exam is in Mangsir/Poush, which is roughly four to five months out from the publication of this calendar. That is a realistic timeline for someone who already has the fundamentals and needs revision and question practice. It is not a realistic timeline for starting from zero, and it is better to know that in Shrawan than in Mangsir.
If you are starting from zero, the sensible move is to aim at the later waves. The Magh/Falgun and Chaitra/Baisakh exams give you eight to ten months, which is enough to build the foundation properly and still sit a real exam this cycle.
A few things worth doing regardless of which wave you target:
Check the PSC website weekly once Ashoj begins. The calendar tells you the month; only the notice tells you the deadline, and deadlines are short.
Keep your documents ready before the first notice drops. Character certificates, transcripts, equivalence and registration where required, plus a licence from the Nepal Engineering Council if the post demands it. Assembling paperwork during a two-week application window, while also studying, is avoidable stress.
Read the syllabus for your specific target rather than a generic one. The papers differ more than people assume, particularly between the engineering stream and the banking stream.

Frequently asked questions
Are these dates guaranteed? No. The PSC calendar is a plan, not a commitment. Sequence is reliable; exact timing is not. Organisations more often advertise later than the window than earlier, so plan for the early end.
Can I apply to more than one organisation? Yes, and most aspirants do. The limit is practical rather than formal: exam dates within the same window can clash, and preparing seriously for more than two or three at once is not realistic. Applying widely without preparing deeply is the most common mistake I see.
Which organisations open earliest in 2083/84? Nepal Telecom and Nepal Rastra Bank, both in Ashoj/Kartik, followed by the Nijamati/Sangh notice on the last Wednesday of Kartik.

A calendar is only useful if it changes what you do this week. The organisations, the windows and the waves above are all fixed and outside your control. What is in your control is whether you are still deciding what to target in Kartik, when the first notices are already out, or whether you decided in Shrawan and have been working steadily since.
